Waccamaw Academy Admissions
Admission Philosophy
Waccamaw Academy welcomes all prospective students and their families to our campus. The Academy seeks to attract students of all grades from all areas of the surrounding region. Students who are at grade level or above, having a wide variety of talents, interests, backgrounds, and experiences are ideal candidates for Waccamaw. The Admission Committee evaluates each candidate for admission on the basis of a personal interview, admission tests, previous academic record, and teacher recommendations. Tours and interviews are offered throughout the year. Please contact the Admission Office in advance to make an appointment.
The Admission Process
Call the Admission Office to discuss initial questions. Visit the Academy's campus for a personal interview. Schedule a day for the student to visit in classes. Complete application forms and submit with the non-refundable $50 application fee. Distribute the teacher recommendation and transcript request forms to the student's current school and ask that they be returned to Waccamaw Academy promptly. Acceptance letters are issued to new students after the enrollment deadline for students. Accompanying the acceptance letter will be an enrollment contract explaining your commitment to the school. Returning the contract with the specified deposit will enroll the student.
The goal of the admission process is to ensure the best fit between the student and the school. The interview is designed to answer your questions about our academic programs and Waccamaw Academy in general. A successful interview is one that will initiate open communication among the student, the parents, and the school.
